Later this afternoon, at around 4 PM, I will be strutting myself with NSC Officials to join the WORLD AIDS DAY campaign. I still feel a little bit skeptical if I could come but for the sake of advocacy, I'll go. Haha.
World AIDS Day, observed December 1 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. It is common to hold memorials to honor persons who have died from HIV/AIDS on this day. Government and health officials also observe the event, often with speeches or forums on the AIDS topics. Since 1995, the President of the United States has made an official proclamation on World AIDS Day. Governments of other nations have followed suit and issued similar announcements.(Wikipedia.)
Yet, Greg and I have been wondering why do we have World AIDS Day on May. I was telling Greg how we have been very busy these past few days and I have a great feeling my mom would ground me for not staying at home for the rest of the week. I have told myself a lot of times to better fill up the days I should be staying at home so that my parents will allow me to go later this afternoon.
I know what is World AIDS Day for. And I know, for now, I am taking it for granted. Unless, I'll be standing there trying to empathize the atmosphere of the era. I could tell why and how and why and why and the reasons why.
So better yet be prudent by now.
Let's see what happens.
:D
